The Hottest Way to Travel this Summer: European Maxi-Cosi® Car Seats Launch in U.S.
CANTON, Mass. (June 28, 2007) - Dorel Juvenile Group USA, a part of Dorel Industries Inc. (TSX: DII.B, DII.A) a leading manufacturer and marketer of juvenile products, announces the long-awaited U.S. debut of its Dorel Europe car seat line, Maxi-Cosi®. Long a favorite of parents in Europe, Maxi-Cosi® car seats are synonymous with premium quality and superior style. The lightweight design of the Maxi-Cosi® MicoTM Infant Car Seat, $149.99, makes traveling easy. It quickly transitions from use in the car - with its convenient stay-in-car adjustable base - to use with the recently released Quinny® BuzzTM and ZappTM strollers. The MicoTM Infant Car Seat features a five-point harness with up-front harness adjustment, energy absorbing EPP foam, and an integrated canopy. Infants will be comfy cozy in the plush Cozi-DoziTM insert. The MicoTM Infant Car Seat is designed for children 5 - 22 lbs. and 19 - 29" in height (newborns to approximately one year old).
The Maxi-Cosi® PrioriTM Convertible Car Seat, $199.99, features the Independent ReclineTM System, which easily adjusts the seat to four positions while the child is in the seat. Harness holders keep straps out of the way, vehicle seat belt locks ease installation, and a removable, plush seat pad keeps children comfortable on long rides. Like the MicoTM Infant Car Seat, the PrioriTM features energy absorbing EPP foam. The PrioriTM Convertible Car Seat is appropriate for children 5 - 35 lbs. and 19 - 36'' in height (rear-facing, for newborns to approximately one year old), and 22 - 40 lbs. and 34 - 43" in height (forward-facing, for children approximately one to four years old).
The 2-in-1 design of the Maxi-Cosi® Rodi® Booster Car Seat, $99.99, allows the seat to easily convert to a backless booster. Its adjustable backrest offers six different height positions for maximum comfort, while its padded headrest has cushioned sides and energy absorbing EPP foam. Car installation is simple with a three-point seat belt. The Rodi® Booster Car Seat is designed for growing children 30 - 100 lbs. and 34 - 57" in height (approximately four to eight years old), and may be converted to a backless booster when the child is 40 lbs. or more.
"For years, European consumers have trusted Maxi-Cosi car seats for leading the way in safety technology," said Lisa Abdinoor, Dorel Juvenile Group's director of marketing for the Maxi-Cosi® and Quinny® brands. "We are excited to bring the Maxi-Cosi brand to the American market for parents who want the ultimate in car seat safety without sacrificing their sense of style."
Specialty stores and other select retailers nationwide will begin carrying the Maxi-Cosi® PrioriTM Convertible Car Seat and Rodi® Booster Car Seat at the end of June, followed by the MicoTM Infant Car Seat in August.
Additional information about Maxi-Cosi® car seats will be available on www.maxi-cosi.com beginning July. To determine which car seat type and model meets your child's needs, consult a certified passenger safety technician and carefully read the car seat package, warning labels and instruction manual.
